The cup of the Africa Cup 2014 went to Nigeria. The two finalists delivered on Saturday a thrilling final on the sports field on the Kennedystraße. At the final whistle it was 1: 1. So the penalty shootout had to decide. And then Nigeria was more accurate. With fighting spirit and fairness, the eight teams had kicked the ball on two matchdays. In addition to the African teams, there were also some from the Oldenburg football scene. For example, Kennedy FC. The young men from the Kennedyviertel started for Egypt and even made it to the semi-finals. Although defending champion Cameroon scored 8-0 in the tournament, Stefan Pieper of the community work Bloherfelde / Eversten was nevertheless very proud of "his" boys: "Most of them do not play in the club." South Africa lost in the second semi-final (Team "Dreamdancer" from the Bunte League) Nigeria with 1: 3 goals. The Africa Cup was again organized by the association Integration and the community work Bloherfelde / Eversten. "We want to use the tournament as a sign of tolerance and peaceful coexistence," said Lobe Ndoumbe Cyrille, 1st Chairman of the Integration Association, as the prelude. And this goal was also achieved at the ninth edition. So colorful the composition of the teams, so colorful was the program on the sidelines and beyond. Because on the final day on Saturday, a street party was celebrated again in front of the sports grounds. Under the motto "Colorful Bloherfelde" had invited the community work to it. And so all visitors, whether football fans or not, got their money's worth. "Both events have benefited from each other," said a delighted Stefan Pieper. Already in the previous year, they moved to the Kennedy district from the Bloherfelder Markt district festival. "This is closer to the people who live here. And for them, the festival is a fixed date in the annual calendar, "says Pieper. So big and small walked between sports field and street festival back and forth. The visitors enjoyed the many delicacies, had fun with the hands-on program and enthusiastically applauded at performances by various clubs and groups. And on the sports field, the balls rolled on - not only at the Africa Cup. On the final day, a mini-tournament of the project "Girls Kick with (Mick)" was held, in which the elementary schools Bloherfelde, Drielake and Staakenweg participated. In the end, each team got a cup. In addition, teams from the club Adina (Hamburg) as Côte d'Ivoire and the club Camhann (Hannover) delivered as Cameroon a friendly match. At the end, they met for a big charity party in favor of the Cameroon Cameroonian Student Union in the leisure center Bürgerfelde. Of course, things did not go without football either, because after all, Germany played against Ghana at the World Cup. The game could be followed on a canvas. Wenn der Fußball bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Brasilien rollt, dann wird auch in Oldenburg international gekickt: Zum neunten Mal veranstaltet der Verein Integration in Zusammenarbeit mit der städtischen Gemeinwesenarbeit Bloherfelde das Turnier um den Afrika-Cup. Titelverteidiger ist Kamerun.
Acht bunt besetzte Fußballmannschaften aus Oldenburg und Umgebung treten auf dem Sportplatz an der Kennedystraße 61 an. Sie alle spielen um den Siegerpokal und feiern ein zweitägiges Sommerfest mit Musik und internationalen Köstlichkeiten. Der Afrika-Cup ist mehr als ein Turnier: „Wir wollen ein Zeichen für Toleranz und ein friedvolles Miteinander setzen“, sagt Lobe Ndoumbe Cyrille, 1. Vorsitzender des Vereins Integration.
Die Gruppenspiele werden am Sonnabend, 14. Juni, ab 12 Uhr ausgetragen. In der Gruppe A treten Kamerun, Gabun, Sierra Leone und Nigeria an, in der Gruppe B Südafrika, Libyen, Tschad und Ägypten.
Die beiden Halbfinale (ab 14 Uhr) und das Endspiel (16.30 Uhr) werden am Sonnabend 21. Juni, ausgetragen. Dieser Finaltag ist wieder mit dem Stadtteilfest „Buntes Bloherfelde“ im Bereich Kennedystraße und Thomas-Dehler-Straße verbunden. Von 14 bis 18 Uhr werden Vereine, Einrichtungen und Institutionen ihre Angebote und Aktivitäten präsentieren. Miterleben und Mitmachen – zum Beispiel auf der Hüpfburg und dem Fahrradparcours – ist angesagt. Die Grundschule Drielake zeigt eine Kindermodenschau mit afrikanischer Kleidung. Die Band Global Music Player spielt Pop, Reggae und mehr. Yezidische Musik liefert Koma Ezidxan. Der Eintritt ist an beiden Turniertagen frei.
Nicht nur die Großen zeigen ihr Können: Am Finaltag heißt es auch wieder „Mädchen kicken mit“ (Mick-Projekt). Die Teams der Grundschulen Krusenbusch, Bloherfelde, Drielake und Staakenweg treten an.
Am Abend wird ab 20 Uhr eine große Benefizparty in der Freizeitstätte Bürgerfelde, Alexanderstraße 209, gefeiert. Spenden gehen an den Camsao, den Kamerunischen Studentenverein Oldenburg.
