01.02.2015 Rostrup - Bad Zwischenahn. The Ammerländer police (Rostrup - Bad Zwischenahn) shot Appolinaire Okou, a young 31-year-old Ivorian. I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to his Ivorian family, especially to his parents and siblings. What happened? It happened on February 1, 2015, around 11:25 am when Appolinaire threw objects outside the window of his apartment. Alarmed by passers-by, a police car arrived with two officers, and within five minutes the action turned into a drama. Once in the building, Appolinaire met the naked-body police officer with a knife hidden behind his back. He threw himself on one of the policemen and injured his arm. The officer sprayed gas into the assailant's face, which he no longer had control of. The second officer fired. As usual, it was self-defense. Then they tried to revive him in vain. Who was Appolinaire Okou? For those who knew Appolinaire, he was a respectful young man. I personally had the chance to get in touch with him as a brother-in-law. The first impression was marked by human warmth, he liked his neighbor. The neighbors in the house, who were interviewed after the tragedy, described him as a quiet person who liked a peaceful coexistence. After finishing high school in Côte d'Ivoire, Appolinaire wanted to meet his siblings in Hamburg again to spend good moments. He was admitted to a university. Unfortunately, his illness, a depression caused by overwork, made him an obstacle to the rest of his vocational training. Appolinaire was depressed, but not aggressive. Depression is a condition sometimes characterized by hopelessness, a lack of desire to live, mental retreat, which in some cases can lead to suicide. Conscience is not always omnipresent in the depressed, which triggers unconscious hidden reactions. The Austrian philosopher Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, defines conscience as "the mental faculty that distinguishes the good from the evil and the right from the wrong." He continues, "Depression should not be condemned but needs love and affection instead." Appolinaire was known to the police as someone who was depressed but not as a violent person. Our analysis and conclusion For us it is a crime, not an accident. Why? Let me explain it when the police were alerted, she asks for the address. So the police knew very well that it was about Appolinaire, so a person suffering from depression. The statistics show that the German police in Europe are best equipped in such cases. Quite different preparations could have been made to control Appolinaire, because it was not a terrorist in a hostage situation. He threw his own things out the window, which did not pose a danger to passers-by. In the worst case, the police would have shot to their feet. The day before yesterday it was the Senegalese N'deye Mareame Sarr (Aschaffenburg) 2001 Gesrtern the German-Nigerian Christy Schwundeck (Frankfurt) 2011 Today it is the Ivorian Appolinaire Okou (Bad Zwischenahn) 2015 Who is tomorrow's turn? ? ? We inform all Africans, wherever they are, that everyone activates their active networks, associations and NGOs, a big march is soon organized. With the ADINA (Association of Ivorians from Northern Germany) we will determine the time and place. May his soul rest in peace ... Aboubakar Sylla
